I'm looking for a ticket for August 21, 22, 23 or 24. Any tips on where to find one since they are all already sold out?

Any or all of these might if you are lucky or willing to pay $$$

• book w/ one of the tour companies that do combo Alcatraz / other sites tours. There are several and you can find them by googling. Expensive, but almost always some availability.

• Check the official Alcatraz site every single day (multiple times) for cancellations.

• Just show up early in the AM and hope to find tickets either at the ticket window (cancellations) or from someone selling tix they can't use (risky)

I would go for the first option as most likely to get you a ticket or tickets.

Or, if you're staying in a hotel ask the concierge - but expect to pay a high price.

They had a stand-by line when we were there JUly 4th but no one was in it. I was surprised. They tell people to get there early or you may lose your tickets. Maybe someone will be late? Also don't forget one benefit of daytime is seeing all of the pretty outside areas and sailboats etc. if that is all you can get.
