The grandgirls are 6&7 in July.
That's probably about the right age for the chicks, aren't they? Or is it too babyish for them? |
i'2,
Can't you post a 15 sec clip on your Kauai/Oahu pics site of you modeling your TT outfit while doing the little dance they do on their TV commercial? \:D/ color color color...We like that store and Hot Rocket in Hanalei. Still got my colorful rubber tie that I bought from him when he was located back in Kapaa. 196!!!((Y)) |

Ashley,
I teach second grade at a public elementary school. The little chicks are little stuffed animals dressed up in aloha prints. I think there is a story or legend attached to each one. My kids love it when I bring in anything of mine for sharing. My desk at work has become of shrine of sorts with Hawaiian knick-knacks being the predominant theme. -Bill |
Kal,
Where in Hanalei is Hot Rocket located? -Bill |
Bill,
I have been a second grade teacher for the last five years...I just made a switch to fifth grade for next year. How do you like it? Anyways, I would love to buy some Hawaiian chicks to decorate my classroom. Thanks for the idea! |
Ashley,
I like second grade a lot. I've only been teaching for four years(second career/mid-life crisis) and at this point I could not imagine switching grades. Good luck in 5th. When is you trip to Kaua`i? -Bill |
Bill,
I have been teaching for 13 years in grades 2-5. I prefer the older students who are more independent workers. I found myself being so exhausted at the end of the day with the second graders, and my two daughters (7,10)suffered from my lack of energy and patience. We are going to LA on July 30th, spending the night, and then going to the BI the next day. We will be there for four nights before going to Kauai for 7 nights. When we return, I will have about a week before I have to go back to work. How about you? |
Donna: It looks like you had a good day when you went to Waimea Canyon. When we went to Kauai in May 03 the day that we went to Waimea Canyon it was so foggy that you could not see anything.I was really looking forward to it too.Your pictures are wonderful thanks for sharing them.Kauai is my favorite little paradise and I have been to St John USVI and Aruba also.I thought that the food was really good in Kauai. It sounds like someone else in a previous post did not have such luck. Also we did not have rain the whole time that we were there. When it rained it was very localized and short so we always found a sunny beach to enjoy! :)

Ashely,
We are returning from Kaua`i on August 9th and school starts on the 25th. Today was the last day of the school year! It is by far one of the strangest days of my year/life. Conflicting feelings all over the place. I've had my one big "let it all go" cry and now I'm ready for summer! Yippee. -Bill |
ttt for leelane and others who think all we do is fail to inform anyone about Kauai.
