I want the ultimate cabin away

I check out all of your requests and am currently milling everything over. Nothing I saw fit "the ideal" that I have in my head, I guess you could say I am very picky about what it is I am looking for. I will continue to take to heart any other suggestions though. I want ultimate seclusion, VERY forested, near a creek or small river. I don't care about modern conveniences at all and don't mind hiking into it either. Thank you!

RC, I know this is a rather old post but I am interested in talking with you about your cabin. I stumbled across this blog looking for writing cabins in Alabama ( I'm in the Birmingham area) No electricity or running water means no distractions. I have a few similar places that I can go to write but none this close to home which would be nice. If you get this, post back here and let me know if we can talk further. Thanks, Hall

RC is no longer an active screenname on this forum, so unless they happen to be here with another name, you won't get a response re the AL cabin.
You may want to check AirBnB to see if you can find something in AL you like.

No one on this thread is an 'active' screen name since it was started years before registration. No way to tell if RC is still around or not . . .
I personally had two different 'screen names' back then.

To any of you who are looking for a private place to write including hall42, Zane Grey's cabin along the Rogue is still standing. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blmore...n/photostream/
It's about 5 miles down the Rogue from Graves Creek parking lot. Zane Grey would hike down to the cabin with his girlfriend and a lot of paper and come out in the fall with at least 2 books. (Zane's wife never came to Oregon).
It's too late this year to get a lookout job. I'll be going back to work at a lookout tower with solar power and propane for the stove and lights and a wood stove for heat.

Wow, tom! That's interesting. Good to know!
I like watching the sunsets from the Zane Grey lounge in Islamorada. Very different from that cabin!
