I need recommendations for a small travel camera...
I am willing to spend around 200.00 for a good little digital camera.
I am concerned about size, battery life and internal storage. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks, as always. |
Canon's PowerShot series of cameras produces great quality photos for the pricepoint you've targeted. We've owned two at our company and they're still clicking after 2 and 3 years each. 310 and 410 models.
Thicker than a deck of cards, but not by much. Rechargeable battery that slides into a rectangular charger that plugs straight into the socket w/o a cord. Storage is Compact Flash format, although some of the newer models have SD format. |
I asked a very similar question a number of weeks ago and got lots of helpful information:

Love our Canon PowerShot S500! Tiny and great pictures.

THANKS OBX!!!!
Great info in that thread! |
Love our new Casio EX-Z40. Very small, great battery life, 2 inch viewer, easily added a 256mb card for plenty of memory. Paid around $230 from Butterflyphoto.com, but I think they're sold out now - they might have the 5 mpixle version for a little more. There's also a 3 mpixle version for a little less.

I love my Pentax S5i. It's so small it fits in an Altoids can! Takes great photos, video too. It's more than $200 though, especially if you get a large memory card (I got 1 Gb). There may be older models that are less.
