I need help ASAP with long weekend anniversary trip in Southeast!

So I have posted before but my husband and I have our technical anniversary this weekend but due to myself coming down with a bad cold we are moving the trip plans to Nov 8-11. 3 nights is what we have. We live in Southern VA. We are open to some great suggestions within 5 to 6 hour drive of here. However no Pigeon Forge or Asheville as we frequent there ALOT! We thought about Charleston because it has been a long time since we have been but it is ridiculously expensive! Savannah is a place we love but we have been there a few times.
Places we can fly that are cheap and easy via Allegiant are Orlando, Ft Laurderdale, and Punta gorda area.
I appreciate any ideas you all may have!

So if you fly somewhere and then add on the hotel is Charleston still "ridiculously expensive"? Have you looked on hotels.com for places in Charleston? Just asking.
Stay in Mt. Pleasant. Lovely hotels there for under $200.
