What is your destination on I-84? If you're going to Ogden by way of Boise, consider going east from Bend on US 20.

I wouldn't drive 300 miles North just to
come back South an even further distance.
See your other thread.

The Mapquest route says to take 140 and US 395 through the desert and get on I-80 at Winnemucca, NV.

I'm sure it does, Tom. But I have driven that route a dozen times. No people between Lakeview and Winnemucca, and just one gas station. A lot like mad max.

If you top off in K-Falls, you should be able to make it to Winnemucca. Yes there is a severe lack of gas stations between US 20 and I-80 in eastern Oregon and north-eastern California.
What is your range on a tank?

bbqboy Aug 31st, 2013 07:29 AM

wrong thread, Tom. And I'll repeat. I wouldn't drive an older motor home across that vast wasteland.

thanks for the replies, not sure, about 325 400 miles per tank 84 east to 80 or 90
