Hyatt Kauai - path between beaches?
Is there a formal pathway from the Hyatt to Poipu Beach? How far can you walk along the coast - all the way to Sprouting Horn? My family usually enjoys beach strolls both in the daytime and after dinner. I am trying to get an idea of how far we can actually go. Thanks.

There is a paved 2-lane road which runs from Spouting Horn, to beyond the Hyatt.
It is inland, not along the beach however. No bike/pedestrian path, but you can easily walk on the edge of the road. From Hyatt to Spouting Horn is about 4-5 miles. |
We've stayed at the Makahuena condos twice and you can walk along the water's edge between them and the Hyatt. Makes for a nice stroll. If you check out this map, you can see approximate locations. It doesn't look like you could walk along the water, but you can. The Makahuena condos go right up the water, so to continue past them, you would have to walk on the road for a bit, but it doesn't have a lot of traffic. Then its just a short walk to Poipu Beach. http://www.hawaiian.net/~poipu/info_content/map.html

There is a path from the Hyatt through the greenbelt in Poipu Kai that dumps you out around Brennecke Beach which is just this side of Poipu Beach. It took us about 20 minutes to walk from the Hyatt to Poipu. We also walked around the rocky point by the Embassy that cruisin tigger mentions and it took a little longer. The walk through the greenbelt is very pleasant. We did it a couple of times.

Thanks very much guys. Cruisin Tigger: that is a terrific map; very detailed. I think the stroll will be fine day or night.
