Going to Phillies game on Fri nite and have reservations at Hyatt Penn's landing- is the hotel ok? are they too far from each other? Also how far is drive to AValon or other nearby beaches from there? Thank you so much!

I don't know much about the hotel, it is rather newly built within the last couple of years. The only problem with it is that it is a little far from the center of downtown (Rittenhouse Sqaure, Avenue of the Arts, and the Museum area).
To get to the Philies game take the Market-Frankford subway at 2nd Street going westbound toward 69th Street and get off at 15th Street. Transfer to the Broad Street line southbound and get off at the end of the line (Pattison Avenue). The stadium is right there.
The closest beach is Atlantic City (60 miles or 1.5 hr. drive). Avalon is about 80 miles from Philly (2 hour drive).

I've stayed at the Hyatt Penn's Landing several times. It is a very nice hotel. Nothing spectacular, but nice, clean rooms, nice views across the river and a friendly staff. The location is getting nicer as they are making a lot of improvements to that particular area of the city. Not being from Philadelphia, I'm not sure on how far the drive is to Avalon, but the Hyatt is a good choice.
