Husbands Golf - Wives ???
My husband is planning a fun golf tournament this Feb. in Phoenix. The men are golfing for 3 days and I am trying to figure out what the ladies can do. We will probably golf one day but then what? There will probably be 10-12 of us.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. |
There are a couple of ruins that are national monument sites nearby (Montezuma Castle is very interesting), and several fun little towns in the area. Jerome is very scenic, and Sedona is beautiful. The Desert Botanic Garden is gorgeous, and it's a nice drive to Apache Junction.

In PHX - The Musical Instruments Museum [the MIM]; The Phoenix Art Museum are 2 things we just did and we really like each one; we spent over 4 hours at the MIM and could have stayed longer.
Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesen West is wonderful place to visit. {read Nancy Moran's book, "Loving Frank" first to really appreciate it} Heard Musuem - great southwest stuff Desert Botanical Garden http://www.fodors.com/world/north-am...ale-and-tempe/ |
I found myself in the same situation several years ago. My girlfriend and I took a day tour to the Grand Canyon. We left Phoenix at 7 AM and returned at 10 PM. It was a worthwhile trip.

Well, IMO the obvious answer is the spa :-)
I adore Taliesen West. I've gone to a day tour and the Friday night tour in the same week (we often had company meetings AZ). We would also take a day trip to Sedona. Not as far as the Grand Canyon but wonderful. |
There are lots of little shops, art galleries and restaurants in Old Town Scottsdale. There is also the Fashion Square mall for shopping.
