Huntington beach?

Is Huntington Beach fun? We are going on a family vacation end of June, staying at Hyatt. Should we go somewhere else instead. We have 2 kids 5 & 2, want to play at beach, shop, do Disneyland.

michaelannh-I answered this on your other post. If you couldn't find it, just click on your name and it will bring up all of your posts. So you don't need to post something twice.

From Huntington Beach, it's a short drive to Newport Beach. There's a great restaurant there, called The Crab Cooker. Wonderful fresh fish and lobster grilled over an open fire, homemade clam chowder, cole slaw, grilled potatoes. Get there early to avoid the long lines. The kids would like it, because it's funky and there's a shark hanging from the ceiling.

You can go to neighboring Balboa Island where there are lovely little homes ("little" multi-million dollar homes) and it's fun to walk around there. Plenty of shops for ice cream and snacks for the kids.

On Balboa get a frozen chocolate banana-yum!! We also love the Crab Cooker its on the Peninsula. And, Cappy's on PCH (on the boarder of Huntington Beach and Newport) is a real local's breakfast hangout.

The only problem I can see is the waves are too big for the kids.

Hi, I saw your post, not sure if you'll see this but I am wondering the same thing that you posted about. Staying at the Hyatt for 2 nights in Huntington, with 4 and 3 year old kids. Wanted a hotel with pool where we could walk to the beach.... Did you go to the Hyatt? and would you recommend that beach for kids, or a different location? thanks Kathy
