Hudson Valley: Lodging
I am looking for some last minute lodging recommendations in the Hudson Valley. Our first choices (Beekman Arms, Belvedere Mansion, Dover Inn) are booked. Any suggestions for something comparable in quality? (money not really an issue). Thanks!

Mohonk Mountain house is on the other side of the river and a little bit south of the places you mentioned, but you won't find anyplace else like it in the area. Check out www.mohonk.com. Their rates include 3 meals and activities, and the food and grounds are fantastic.

When we went house hunting in Dutchess/Columbia we stayed at 8 or nine different places. I'd recommend Troutbeck in Armenia (I think), Grand Duchess in Red Hook (nice Victorian b&b, nice owners, rooms are just ok). There is also a romantic b&b in rheinbeck, about 1 mile south of the main intersection, a few blocks east of route 9. Can't remember name, famous for breakfasts, pricey, two night minimums. Call Beekman Arms or Belvedere and they may know. In Hudson the St. Charles is a decent hotel. In Poughkeepsie there was some big hotel complex "by the falls". Can't remeber the rest of the name, sorry. If there's anything else I can help with, email me.
We stayed in Hyde Park at a B&B called Journey Inn (www.journeyinn.com) - not as luxurious as the others you mention, but very nice - recommend the English Country Room.

Also, saw a brochure for another place called "Hideaway Suites" - it looks quite nice - web site: http://www.ehideawaysuites.com/
