Hudson Valley Inn help, please
Trying to find a lovely inn/B&B to stay for 2-3 nights before going into NYC. We live in CT, are in our 50's and like great accommodations, food and wine. I'm looking forward to going to CIA for lunch or dinner, antiquing and visiting some wineries. Looking for someplace really great, but not The Point prices. Please help!

Have you looked into the Beekman Arms.
We stayed there many times and loved it. Perfect location for getting to all the vineyards, apple orchards, and antiquing..and a quick drive on the Taconic into NYC. |
Hi,
The website of the Beekman Arms looks great but so many bad reviews on Tripadvisor.com. That alone makes me leary. Any other suggestions? The Mohonk Mountain House only has double size bed and we want queen, at least. Has anyone stayed at Cromwell Manor? Any other Inns you have loved? We would love something with a gym, but not absolutely necessary. |
Well, for what it's worth, we stayed at the Beekman Arms and Delamater House several times over the years.. we had no real complaints.
We also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express many many years ago .. in Poughkeepsie.. a short hop to Hyde Park and Rhinebeck from there..affordable and typical big hotel kind of rooms..we preferred the Beekman Arms though. |
I don't know if Greenwich Ct. is of any interest, since it's not technically part of the Hudson Valley (or is it), but take a look at the Homestead Inn (it's affiliated with Relais and Chateaux. Here's the link to it http://www.homesteadinn.com

REally want to stay in Hudson Valley area--not Greenwich.
How about Belvedere Mansion? Anyone have a report on this property? |
Never stayed at the Belvedere but drove by there often..I liked how it looks, I would look into it .. never heard anything bad.
