How will the record snowfall in yosemite effect mid july waterfalls?
 

Will i see normally dry by july waterfalls flowing in mid july due to the extra snowfall? Changes my hikes if so.

Well - in a normal year, the falls will be smaller in July but not usually dry. (that doesn't normally happen til mid August)

But this is FAR from a normal year and the falls should be roaring most of the summer (it was still snowing in the high country just a couple of weeks ago.)

You may be happy to know that the snowpack is currently greater than 250% of normal for this time of year. It will take some time for that snow to melt and flow into the rivers, streams and appear in the waterfalls. The expectation is that waterfalls will be flowing greater than normal for most of the summer.

According to this morning's LA Times the snow is still up to roof-level at the Tioga Pass Resort just outside of Yosemite on the Tigoa Pass Road. They expect some of the meadows to be snow-covered into mid-late July.
Waterfalls will be great, and dangerous, this summer.

Watching the mighty Merced River could be just as thrilling as the waterfalls.
