How to spend the last afternoon/evening?

Hi, Our flight back to the east coast leaves at 10 p.m. Can anyone give me some suggestions on spending the time between checking out of the hotel and our flight? Are there beaches with showers or hiking areas that have showers? I'm worried about being salty and we won't be back home till late the next day. Thanks in advance!

I guess I should have said that we'll be on the Big Island.

If you're staying at Hilton Waikoloa or the Outrigger Waikoloa Beach Marriott there is an outdoor open air shower at the Marriott near the Fish Pond's behind A-Bay. Suggest checking "Hawaii-The Big Island Revealed" for additional beach parks/shower facilities:

The hotel you are staying at may have available a courtesy room for you. You check out and leave your bags with the front desk, do what ever it is you wanted to. And you can have one of their hotel rooms for 1 hour to get cleaned up, but make sure you have a small bag with what you will need to get cleaned up. Or ask for a late check out.

We were in the same boat, so to speak, last December. The Outrigger Waikola has courtesy rooms available. There are outdoor showers at Kahaluu Beach Park. It's hard to get the sand out of your suit at an outdoor shower, though.
