how to smoothly check-in at Excalibur Hotel, Las Vegas,

My wife and I will rent a car at the airport and go to Excalibur. I hear it is a huge hotel and check-in counter is far from entrance. How can I handle my luggage and my car when I reach the hotel? Shall I park first and walk to the hotel counter, with our laggages ? Or ,do they have bell boys at where we pull our car? What do I do when we first pull to the Hotel?

You pull into the front of the hotel and bellboys will take your luggage inside. You give your cr keys to the valet and they remove the car. You go inside and get on line to register.

If for some reason you don;t want to use the valet you drop your bags and passenger at the hotel and s/he goes to register while you park the car and walk miles in the sweltering sun back to the hotel (the nearby parking will all be valet).

Are you using the rental car while you're staying at the hotel? You can totally get by without a car on the strip, and it's actually a bit of a hassle - if you don't need it until, for instance, the end of your stay in Vegas, or for a day trip, I would consider a cab from the airport to the hotel, and then cab back to the car rental when you need it.

Why do you need a car at all? Do you plan on driving off strip? To the Grand Canyon? Bryce? To LA?
Do not drive on the strip.

Grand Circle, as in Utah? Don't bother with the rental car until you are ready to leave Vegas. It will be a pain to have and an unneccesary expense. Get a cab to the hotel, enjoy Vegas, then go get your rental car. Have a great time!

I'm totally for getting a rental car and have one reserved for a weekend trip a few weeks from now! I don't know why it would be such a hassle, when valet parking is FREE at all casinos (just a tip, and if that's too much, then self park!) When it's hot out, who wants to stroll the Strip? The Strip is so huge now, with so much (ugly) space between the casinos, it's not a walking city! Yes, the traffic is heavy, but that's when you sightsee. If you want to get somewhere in a hurry, then you take the highway. I've never not had a car in Vegas and have always gotten my money's worth!
