How to read threads with numerous posts?

Could the more savvy among you please tell me how I access the posts (where there are more than say 10 replies). Some of these threads are pretty fun to read and I'd like to read more.

What sort of problems are you having? When I click on a header with many many replies, they just all appear, no extra steps needed.

You need to scroll down... the others will appear.

I think she wants to read posts with lots of replies. It tells you how many responses the topic has under the title.

I tend not to read posts with more than 30 posts, since most of the information therein is repeated ad naseum.

If it's a thread with a lot of posts, and you have been following it, press the END key (once you're in it) and it'll take you instantly to the bottom. You can scroll up from there to catch the newest ones.

Sorry Bookhall, what & where is the END key?

BTW, I think Pam is asking if there's any way, maybe in the text search to find only threads with 10 or more replies.

bookhall Mar 28th, 2003 04:20 PM

The END key, on a PC keyboard, is generally part of a 6-key cluster, between the alpha group and the numeric keypad. Probably includes Delete, Page Up, Page Down, Home and Insert. And I doubt there is any way to easily find the longest threads....

My question was actually how to read those posts with say 30 or more responses and I think that has been answered.Thanks..I'll try..scrolling down alone did not seem to do the trick..but checking out those posts with many, many replies could be entertaining. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the reply, Bookhall. My laptop doesn't appear to have an END key but I'm managing fine without it.

bookhall Mar 29th, 2003 07:33 AM

McLaurie: On a laptop, it might be anywhere, probably on the right side. I'm typing this on a Thinkpad, and it (and that cluster of keys) is in the upper right corner.

bookhall, thanks for the info. it even works on my appliance.

Excellent! The aggravation it can save makes it worth the effort to locate the key.
