How to get to East Hampton from MA?

We are going to be staying a few nights in East Hampton in October.

What's the best way to get there from Northern MA? We were told to take Cross Sound Ferry, but I think that drops off in Orient Point. Is there another ferry that goes from North Fork to South Fork?

Also wondered if anyone has stayed at/seen/heard about East Hampton Point. That's where we are staying. Looks nice on the web - hope it is...

Yes, from Orient Point, you drive to Greenport and then take the ferry from Greenport over to Shelter Island and then a ferry to Sag Harbor.

Did this in reverse 2 weeks ago--it's fun riding on 3 ferries to get somewhere. Plus the scenery is beautiful. A nice way to arrive in the area
Make sure you get to the New London-Orient Point ferry at least 15 minutes in advance or they will sell your space to others and you will have to get in the standby line. The Shelter Island ferries are only standby The Point is lovely.
