How to get to Dupont Circle from BWI

We will probably not rent a car, since everyone advises against it, but what's the easiest way to get to the Hotel Palomar from Baltimore airport? In NY we'd just take a taxi. Is this a feasible option? There will be four of us, so we could split the cost. I don't relish the thought of slogging through ice and snow in the cold with suitcases.

I'm not sure whether the cabs at BWI will accept 4 passengers, but otherwise that's perfectly feasible.

Or you can catch the B30 express bus right outside the BWI terminal, which will take you to the Greenbelt station on the DC Metro system's green line; switch to the Red line at the Tenleytown or Gallery Place stations, to the Dupont station. Bus fare is $3, bring dollar bills.

Alternatively, at the BWI terminal you can catch the shuttle to the train, and then take either Amtrak or the MARC commuter rail trains (weekdays only) to Union Station, which is also on the Metro Red line.

The only potential slogging through ice and snow would be the 2 or 3 blocks from the Dupont Metro station to the hotel.

The B30 runs every 40 minutes, 7 days per week. Maps and schedules for the DC area are available at www.wmata.com

Have you looked into one of those airport vans? I think you'd could go door to door.

Look at BWI airport shuttles for more info. Here's one:

We haven't used one for a long time but you should be able to find something. Less expensive than a limo.

You're welcome. Please let everyone know how it worked out. Also, are you coming to DC for the inauguration? Book ahead for everything!

For me, it's worth the extra money to get from airport to hotel without hassle.
