How to get tickets for NYC Televison Shows

I am planning a trip to NY and I was wondering if anyone knows the best source to get tickets for any NYC Television Show. I had heard that all NBC shows will not allow mail in postcards anymore because of 9/11 is this true???
Thanks for anyone who has real information

Try the show's website for ticket info.
Hey Mark ... great to hear from you. Stop by the ticket window at our little theatre and tell them "Dave's got tickets waiting for me." See you at the show.

Katie is right. Each show has different procedures, but the websites give you all the info. Go to www.nbc.com and click on the show you're looking for.

Often you have to call or e-mail in your info and depending on the show, after a typical 3-6 month wait you might get tickets, except for shows like SNL which has a once a year lottery for the whole year's shows.

Which show are you trying for??

We were in NYC in Feb. I filled out the email form that says if they have people canc, they will give you a call. Surprisingly they actually called 2 days before my trip but my husband screwed up and didnt' know the answer to the trivia question. I even called and left a message saying what a dummy he was and they actually called back to give me another chance. Only problem was, I didn't have my cell phone with me at the time! We blew 2 chances to go see him! Make sure you do your homework before they call with the trivia question. Good luck!

I'd check with the concierge at your hotel as soon as you check in. That is how we got tickets for Regis and Kelly. When we went to Good Morning America, we just got there and waited outside. I believe you line up around 6 -6:15 for the 7a.m. show. Also, the hosts were very good about staying around afterward to meet with everyone and take pictures.
