How to get from Hotel to Cirque du Soleil?

We will be staying at the Sheraton World Resort and have purchased tickets to Cirque du Soleil which I understand is in West Disney Town.

Anyone have any idea how far away that is? Also, what form of transportation should we use or should we rent a car?

Thanks,
Jean

Cirque du Soleil is in Downtown Disney which is very close to the rest of the Disney properties but not something you can walk to. Downtown Disney has a number of restaurants, a CD store, a video game park, lots to do. Unfortunately I don't know where the Sheraton World Resort is so can't advise more than that. Perhaps your hotel would be the best source of this information. Generally, people rent cars in Florida as this is not a mass transit friendly state.

Is that a different Sheraton from Sheraton Safari in Lake Buena Vista?

Sheraton World Resort is at 10100 International Drive.

You may want to check with the hotel web site to see if they do shuttles to downtown disney. If not, renting a car is probably the only really convenient option. (What type of transit will you use other days? Hotel shuttle?)

Problem solved! I finally found an address I could use for mapquest and determined that it is about a 10 minute drive (6.7 miles). I called yellow cabs in Orlando and they estimated the cost to be $12 each way.

Based on that and other factors, we rented a car for an entire week, as we needed one for our last 3 days anyway. The difference in price for a 3 day car rental & 7 days was infinitesimal so we went ahead and booked it. Thanks!

Good move! I can't imagine being there without a car if you want to go anywhere at all.
