How to get from Boston to MV
 
What is the best way to get from Boston to Marthas Vineyard? Is this something I need to book in advance?

Two choices - fly or drive to Cape Cod/Woods Hole area then take a ferry to MV.

If it's anywhere near season - May to Sept - I would definitely book in advance.

We would prefer not to fly. I have seen recommendations for the Peter Pan Bus from Boston to Woods Hole and then take the ferry. Is that the best way to go if not flying?

There also is a fast ferry from Quanset Point in Rhode Island if you have a car to get to there and it might take no longer than driving to Woods Hole. If you don't want to fly and don't have a car then yes, the bus to Woods Hole would work.

Woods Hole by bus is easy. Leave from South Station in Boston.
