How much time to allow for Legoland?
Hi,
We will be spending a week this summer in San Diego. While my husband goes to a trade show, I thought that I would take our six year old daughter to Legoland. I wondered how much time to allow and if anyone had other suggestions. Thank you! |
I would allow a full day there. I think they have added some new attractions since our visit. Lines will be long during the summer. Our daughters loved SeaWorld. You could spend two days there and not feel rushed.

Make sure you check out Legoland website before you plan to go. We were there this last Nov. and they were closed Monday and Tuesday. I agree with sparklegem allow a full day the lines can be as long as an hour on a busy day. For sure see Seaworld! We also took the kids for two days and was worth every dollar we spent.

Thank you for the speedy replies.
There is shuttle service from the hotel that leaves at 9am and returns at 4pm. Would that be enough time at Legoland? Or should we rent a car? Thank you! |
We just went to Legoland with our 22 month old three weeks ago. I didn't intend to stay more than 3-4 hours, but my son had so much fun! It was really nice there. It wasn't that crowded. Certainly, not nearly as crowded as Seaworld and San Diego Zoo. The shuttle would provide plenty of time. Your daughter will love it. 6 years old is a good age. Also, fyi, there is a really pretty garden a few minutes away (I forgot the name of it), as well as strawberry fields, and a great outlet nearby. If you rent a car, then you can stop by those afterwards. However, your daughter will probably be too tired and will complain. My son fell asleep in his stroller, so we were lucky, and got to do some shopping. Have fun. Legoland was a highlight on our trip!

I think taking the shuttle service from the hotel that leaves at 9am and returns at 4pm is enough time. The park usual opens about 10am and closes at 5pm, except during July and Aug. It takes a good half and hour plus to get from San Diego to Legoland and I would let someone else do the driving. Bring snacks even in the park. They will check your bags but they are not looking for food. The snacks are great for keeping kids busy in line. Have a great time. You will have just as much fun as your daughter will at Legoland.
