does anyone have any idea of the cost of a taxi from newark airport to greenwich village

I live on E. 29th St. and it costs $37+tolls/tip from Newark. Greenwich Village should be about the same, give or take a couple dollars. The fare is regulated, and you're told the price before you get into a cab.

You can also use the new train service from EWR into Penn Station and cab it from there. Depending on traffic, might actually save time.

Keep in mind that you'll have to pay ROUND-TRIP tolls, since Jersey cabs aren't allowed to pick up a return fare in Manhattan. Your total will end up being in the neighborhood of $50.

Round trip tolls are not an issue, as all the tolls from NJ to NYC are one-way, inbound only.
