I've been to Hawaii 6 or 7 times - kind of lost track - my ex moved back to Hawaii (Maui) after we split up so I used to take the kids every summer for a while. I got a "free" trip every year since he was no good at taking care of them by himself. But let me assure you - I PAID by having to live in a small 1 bedroom apartment for the summer with him & 2 kids! But, hey, a trip to Hawaii is a trip to Hawaii! Even putting up with my ex couldn't ruin Hawaii!

The first time I went was in 1973 - I was the sweet, innocent age of 17. My last trip was this past summer when I went all by myself - the BEST trip EVER!

I wish I could afford to go at least once a year - I'd go as often as the $$ was available! I love that place, and Oahu is my favorite. I spent a few summers on Maui, and that was okay, I also spent a week on the BI and it was okay too, but I love Oahu. I love the way it can be so busy - so electric and filled with such energy - and then after a short drive you can be all alone in paradise. I love the contrast and there are times in my visits where I prefer one over the other. I also love to watch people and Waikiki's got to be one of the best places to do that.

Been to Hawaii

2 x Kauai
4 x Maui
1 x BI
2 x Oahu

I loved them all! I don't understand those who say there is nothing to do on Kauai. Poor planning perhaps? There's tons to do on Kauai and I must go back soon to do some of the things I didn't get to do and to redo stuff that was great, Mai Tais on the lanai comes to mind.

To Suzie: Ever try a Molokini mist on the terrace restaurant in Princeville? One of our favorite memories.

Suuuuz,
Speaking of Hawaii, just got back from lunch at our local pub (Riv Rock) and they told me they will be carrying Kona Brew Co. "Longboard Lager" and "Big Wave Golden Ale" starting Mar 23rd.

They told me Fire Rock Pale Ale is close behind.

288 until I'll drink it with salt the air and Coppertone wafting.

OMG what a response from you guys I've enjoyed reading your posts so much. Some of you are real veterans. I hate to sound rude but........
Melnq8 and Rusty-the answer to your questions different date, different poster, so obviously a different set of questions. Only the title is the same. If it bugs you that much don't waste your time posting. I have a real job with real work and I'm trying to organize a great trip in between having a life. If you don't have something constructive to say, please stay out of my posts, but if you can be of help with some ideas for my trip I'd love to hear from you. To those who came to my defense...you know who you are... TravelrIVlife and Jacketwatch THANKS YOUR GREAT!!!! I so enjoy reading these forums. KAUAI IT IS.

Thanks mc. And if you get to the Princeville area go to the outdoor terrace restaurant in the Princeville resort. The views will make it all worthwhile. Cheers and aloha. Larry

I've been to Hawaii twice. One week on the Big Island and one week on Oahu (Waikiki). I prefer Oahu over the Big Island since there is more to do.

mcarey -

Certainly didn't mean to offend you - just stating a fact. Thought maybe you missed the earlier thread.

Aloha.

This summer will be my fourth trip. The first one lasted a year, and I came home with a little two-month-old souvenir. She and her family are going back with us this summer to introduce our grandson to paradise.
