How many days with a Car Rental?
 

Hello,

My husband and I are going to Oahu in November. We are staying in Waikiki and seem to be near the buses. We are on a super budget so even though the rental cars seem to be cheap enough but the price to park seems very high which would really eat into our budget. Anyway we plan on using the buses alot but would like to rent a car to drive up to the North Shore and maybe just explore the island. We were thinking about renting for just one day or should we consider two days. What has been peoples experiences with renting the car. Are you wishing that you had a rental car or did you find that the rental car sat in the garage alot? Any help would be appreaciated.

we usually will rent for 1 or 2 days and plan on those days to drive around the Island, car rentals do not seem to be pricey,but check out the free flyers for rental specials.

We made much use of our rental car. There's a lot to see on Oahu. Parking was included in our hotel rate.

ridlee - we stayed on the north shore so needed our car a lot with the 4 kids.

Having said that in a trip to Kaui, we only rented for a day or two if memory serves me correctly - right from the hotel and it was fine.

In Maui we did not rent and then ended up renting for about 5 nights as we wanted to explore more then we had orginally thought.

Thanks everyone. I think we will reserve for one day and then see if we need more than that.
