How many days at Great Wolf Lodge?
 

We are thinking about going to Great Wolf Lodge, Williamsburg for a few days in late January with our two kids ages 2.5 and 5.5.

I was looking for advice on whether we should stay 2 or 3 nights. Will we have "done it all" in two? It is too expensive to hear that my kids are bored...

Are you planning on site seeing or will you spend the entire time in the lodge? The lodge is basically an enclosed water park. If your kids are into water slides etc. they will not be bored. The lodge also has a wizardry "game". You buy a wand (about $15) and then pay an additional price to roam around the hotel finding electronic "treasures" or "clues" to play this game. The older kids really loved this, it all depends if you are into this. IMO your kids may be a little young for the wizardry.

We are planning on just doing Great Wolf, we went to Colonial Williamsburg summer 2006 and are just looking for a fun family getaway. We'll probably wait until the little one is older to do the colonial sighs again.

We just spent one night at the Kalahari in Sandusky with an 8 & 11 year old; 2 nights 3 days would be more than enough time for us.

Wow, two nights would be more than plenty for us. I believe that you can come early before check in and stay later than check out, on the days you are staying. You wear a wrist band, and there are locker rooms. Check with the actual location for their park use policy.

Me, I'd go as early as I can the day of our overnight stay, and then stay as late as I could on check out day. Unless there is another activity/purpose for the visit to that location.

2 days is plenty. Your kids will really enjoy it. There is really nothing more to do than play in the water area or play in the arcade. Most of them have a Cabella's next door. The food is mediocre at their restaurants. That said, it is a good 2 day trip.
