How long does Letterman show taping last?
We will be at the 4:30 pm Thurs. taping. Before I knew that we had the Letterman tickets, I had bought tickets to Proof at 8 pm. at the Walter Kerr. Will we have time to make both, and squeeze a quick bite in between? French bistro, Becco or Joe Allen? Help with logistics please!

I would budget 2 hours for Letterman. They seat and warm up the audience before Dave starts the show. Sometimes they will film so extra bits for later shows. That would put you back on Broadway by 6:30 or so. Depending on your dining plans it is doable but tight. Personally, I would hate to have to rush thru dinner at Joe Allens.

Usually Letterman tapes both the Thursday and Friday night shows on Thursday. You might be able to find out what time the second seating is at the studio. They do hustle you out quickly as soon as they're done with you.

We have to be there by 3:15 and the taping starts at 4:30. The 2nd taping starts at 7:30.

I just made reservations for Becco at 6:30. Do you think that will work?

A word of advice - about a year ago my husband attended a taping. Letterman had this thing about the studio being cooled to less than 60 degrees. Many in the audience were freezing.

Thanks, Gail. The instructions that we received from the studio said "studio temperature is quite cool." Hope they will let us keep our coats on!
