How Long and How Much from SFO to Natural Bridges Monument in Utah?

I am beginning to piece together a little drive from San Francisco to the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park in Utah.

I am trying to gauge how long it would take to reach such a destination and what the wether would be like during early December. I travelled once to Las Vegas in early January and I absolutely adored the weather---not hot in the least bit.

I am also considering possibly renting a car (due to my car not having AC), but am on a budget and really need to figure things out.

I think it would be very soul searching to drive to Utah through Nevada and get some great pictures of the land, listen to some books on tape, listen to music and talk radio, and just think a bit.

Do you think a 4 or 5 day trip like this could be done for around 500 bucks?

It is either this, or a discount vacation to Las Vegas for around $350 with airfare and hotel included.....

Or, I could do the discount vacation and then get a rental car for a day trip???

wow love,

You've got two VERY different agendas here......soul searching and a visit to the Navajo Tribal lands, or LAS VEGAS!

I have no idea what to tell you!

you won't need air conditioning.

If you drive to Utah it will take you 2 days each way.

Just another thought for you, the Monument Valley is high desert. Meaning, it does occasionally get snow and is cool to cold in the winter.
