How is Tropicana Hotel?

My son is getting married in Vegas in June, maybe at Tropicana's chapel. How is that hotel to stay at? Thanks!!

The tower rooms are fine (i think i read that the "Palace Tower" is the better tower of the two), but the garden rooms are TERRIBLE! Just make sure you are booking a tower room and not the Garden rooms.

Yes, the tower rooms are great. And the pool is really fun--they keep it at a perfect temperature and there is some shade around for those (like me) who burn really easily.

You know it's pretty darn good when you can get a good rate and it's very well located.
Here's a review by Casino Boy - tho' I must confess I have no idea how often he updates his reviews of all the hotel casinos:

http://www.cheapovegas.com/tropicana.html

There's quite a bit of good info at the above website.

Also, another website often recommended here is:

www.lvol.com

A huge site with info on just about every aspect of LV you can think of - including wedding chapels. There are also bulletin boards/forums like this one but dedicated just to LV.

Lastly, don't forget to use the TEXT SEARCH feature of THIS website. Type in Las Vegas, hit the FIND button, wait a bit (sometimes takes a rather long time) and Fodors will bring up all the posts on Las Vegas for a long time back; the most current on top.
It's a good thing.

I would add the Island Tower to the Garden Rooms as areas not to stay at the Tropicana. There are two towers at the Trop. The Island Tower is at the very back of the property. While the more recently built of the two towers, it is still not by any means new and the rooms are really showing their age - think well used wicker! The front tower (I think it's called the Paradise Tower, but I could be wrong) was renovated a couple of years ago and the rooms are much nicer than those in the Island Tower.
