How is the Hilton NY Hotel - Rockefeller Center?

I just booked the Hilton NY on The Avenue of the America's for $146/night during the Christmas season. Is this a nice hotel and a good location to time square/broadway?

Carol,
Although I have never stayed at this hotel, I've worked right next to it and it seems like a really nice hotel. It is within a short walking distance to Times Sqaure and mojor subways.
Have a great trip!

Fine hotel, midtown/business location, but close to times square/broadway. Just had a renovation.

Close to theaters, Rock Center and Central Park South. All in all a good choice to be near the "neat stuff" of the season. And yes, it's a nice hotel...in a nice part of town.
hth,
mj

That's a great price, especially for that time of the year. Make the reservation. And, it's really convenient location at 53rd and 6th--within easy walking distance of Times Square and the theater district, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center and a lot more.

I stayed there for Thanksgiving. Teeny tiny rooms, but I got mine thru Priceline, they probably stuck us in the smallest room.

Carol, where did you get the $146/night rate?

Carol May 1st, 2002 08:26 AM

Lisa - I made my reservations through hotwire.com for $146 a night during Thanksgiving weekend. Needless to say I was thrilled with the rate! Thanks everyone for the info!

I had stayed at the Hilton about 12 years ago and was terribly disappointed: what a dump it was! So I wasn't to thrilled when I heard that I had to stay there again about 10 days ago. Wow, what a difference. Yes, it was still the same hotel but I almost didn't recognize it. My room was very nice, spacious, in great shape. However, what I really liked was the service. Everybody was incredibly helpful and friendly. Of course, the room service prices are ridiculous bit they have a sort of reasonable deli where you can get food and take it up to your room.
