we stayed there 4 years ago for a friend's wedding. It was wonderful. We were in one of the less expensive room and still enjoyed the two nights and the food as well. We brought our bikes with us and it was never an issue that we were wear "biking attire"

Racist and rude. Will never return again. Crazy that I spent $500 a night to be treated with no respect. Have not experienced this in Nantucket. As a Boston physician, I have not experienced this level of racism since Mississippi. Place is run like a no blacks allowed white country club. Front desk was not happy to see an Asian girl and Indian couple. We were the only group of people who were asked to more our tiny Kate Spade purse and elegant Ted Baker computer purse to the left shoulder to ascend the stairs because it was assumed that we would ruin the pictures on the wall by sloppily knocking the wall with our bags. Then had to move our purse to the right shoulder to descend.

When being shown around, we asked if the open bottle of brandy with cups around it was complimentary. We were advised NO. We could PURCHASE drinks. Later, we realized that the white guests were in fact advised it was COMPLIMENTARY as we observed them helping themselves.

We had another couple of an Asian woman and Black man along with three others (who happen to be white). We were allows to use the sitting room to play a friendly card game of bullshit until we were kicked out at 11pm-told that the common room closes at 11pm.

The following night, when we asked to have 2 table pushed together like the night before for a game of UNO, we were advised that that was not allowed. No discussion. We were told not to shoot the messenger. When asked to speak to the owner, we were told he was asleep at 7:30pm.

I can't believe I spent $1200 for a weekend where I was treated with no respect based on my skin color.

Also, the WiFi does not work in the Summer House. Their response to my complaint was "Yes it does work."
