How is LaGuardia these days?
Hi there. I would love to hear some recent experiences flying out of there (we usually fly out of Newark). We're leaving for the Caribbean at 6am on a Thursday, stopping in Miami for a change in plane - AA all the way..and yes we're very familiar with Miami's "lovely" airport :-) . I'd love to hear about security/lines, etc... Are they pretty organized? That type of thing...
Thank you for sharing. P.S.: I did post this on the airlines forum as well. |
LGA is great, just fine.
My experience is limited to AA flights. |
Busy as usual.
While it had become bearable the 24 months or so after September 11th, it seems to me it is back to its crazy pre 9/11 delays and waits. |
I thought Fiorello La Guardia died some years ago.
|
Too bad you aren't going through Miami first. After that airport, LaGuardia would seem like a dream.
|
Well- actually I think he died before they named the airport after him.
I do remember my mother telling me about his reading the Sunday comics on the radio when there was a newspaper strike - so people wouldn;t have to miss them. (A full service mayor.) |
Thanks for the replies.
Neopolitan: LOL. So true! |
LGA is my least favorite airport. it's just so busy, they can't handle it. i always prefer JFK or EWR, even if i come from Long Island. The security lines alone are enough to drive you crazy, and heaven forbid it rains a drop because then there is significant delays.

Odd... I have never had problems there. In the past 5 years I would say I have flown AA in/out of LGA 50 times and have never had a delay or problem.
They have decent places to eat, too. |
I flew out of there fairly recently (after the latest security situation). I was in and waiting by the gate in under 20 minutes. If you can do the electronic ticketing that should speed you through too. If you're catching a 6 am flight, I can't imagine it would be busy at that hour. You should zip right through.
