How far from Biloxi to New Orleans?

Am thinking of staying at Beau Rivage in Biloxi in Nov as a cheaper alternative to New Orleans hotels. How far is the drive? Still can't decide if we want to pay the rental car prices - if someone can recommend an inexpensive (<$80) hotel near the Quarter, we won't have to! Any ideas out the

My map says 90 miles between the two places, depending upon the two exact locations involved. But, like any big city, the time of the commute is highly variable according to the time of day.
It is like asking how long does it take to drive from Athens, Ga, to Marietta (city hall), Ga. Between 4:30 and 6:30 PM, it can take forever. Under favorable circumstances, it takes about 1:45.
Hi Helen, I'll give you a number for a lady named Cathy who rents apts. in the French Quarter. They're really nice places and you can rent for as long or short as you want. Here's the number:504-524-9918
Also you might try getting an entertainment book, great deals for everything there. When you're there definitly don't miss the Honey Island Swamp tour, by Slidell. Biloxi is about an hour or an hour an ahalf. But you can get great deals with the entertainment book(hotels at half price). Tell Cathy that Charlene from Vancouver gave you the number. Have Fun!!!!!!!
Helen,
Lots of people enjoy the Mississippi Gulf Coast (if they're into gambling), but it would be a mistake to try to stay in Biloxi and hang out in N.O. during the day. First, the best time to be in N.O. is at night; second, the drive between the cities is not pleasant near N.O.; and finally, you'll spend a lot of time and money over parking. If the hotel prices are too high near the quarter in Nov.(and I know from experience they are!), try a smaller hotel along St. Charles Ave., like the Columns or Park View, or call a bed and breakfast service to find a place in the quarter.
