How easy to get around from Hawaiian Hilton Hotel??
We're only in town for one week at a wedding and don't want to rent a car as we'll be 3 days doing "wedding stuff". We will take a general tour one other day. Wondering how easy it is to get downtown and around from this Hotel? Do they have a bus that stops nearby? Any info would be much appreciated! Thx.

Easy to take buses on Oahu. But, I do recommend a self driving tour of the island instead of a "general tour".
There are many buses that go on Kalia Road where HHV is. The buses stop about every block.

#20 & #42 will go straight (no transfer needed) from Waikiki to USS Arizona Memorial. They also go through downtown Honolulu. Several other buses go straight from Waikiki to downtown Honolulu.
You can buy a bus system map of Oahu at any ABC store for about $4-$5.

We've never been before so I guess I'm talking about going to landmarks, shopping etc. We will likely rent a car for one day..any suggestions on a day tour? Should we rent a car there or book one from here in Canada?? Thx.

You can walk, use The Bus, or take a taxi to get around. You might want to download a good map to see the "lay of the land" (or get a guidebook from the library is a free way to get a handle of the distances).
Waikiki itself is not too big an area, even walking from HHV which is way to one edge of it. Honolulu you'd need transportation. Landmarks like Pearl Harbor are a bit more of a distance, so you can go by bus, taxi, or along with a tour group.
