How Do You Get Around in North Carolina?

Hello folks,

I'm from California and planning a trip in a few weeks to North Carolina. I'm truly in love with the nature and beautiful landscapes of that state. Because of that, I want to travel around the state as much as I can with roughly 1 week trip. I'm probably flying from Los Angeles to Charlotte. But my question is how do you get around this state without a car? Do I take bus? Train? Uber? Rent a car? Any advice would be appreciated. A few places I have in mind are the Outer Banks, Wilmington, and Ashville.

In all honesty, you really don't get around in this state, and certainly not to the extent you are contemplating, without a car.

An AMEN to Brian for all the places and reasons. Rent a car, and be aware that it is about an 8-10 hour drive from the Outer Banks to Asheville/Charlotte. It's a big beautiful state.
You can be in the mountains (Asheville/Blowing Rock) in about 2 hours from Charlotte and to the beach (Wilmington) in about 3 hours.

There is no state that people routinely "get around" without a car. Not even Rhode Island.

Get a rental. I'm thinking Uber-ing your plans would cost far more than your flight tickets.

You need to rent a car.
