I do alot of driving myself. And I try to stop once in a while and do some sightseeing along the way. There are signs on the highway, that will let you know different points of interest. It doesn't make a long drive seem so bad.

before my trips out west, i get national public radio (npr) station listings at www.radio-locator.com for the states i will travel through and listen to dianne rehm show, news and public interest shows all day long. also carry lots of m&m's, fruit, hershey bars and potato chips. no problem having fun seeing how the other half lives.

How many variations of "100 BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL" can you sing?

Buy a portable CB and plug it into the cigarette lighter! The 'trucker' channel 19 provides great entertainment at times, sometimes a little profane but interesting none the less, you can pick up on speed traps, accidents, etc. and it is usefull in an emergency. I always take it with me when we drive to Florida (1300 miles). Get use to the lingo and join the conversations.
