Reply to iceeu2,
My apologies for the headache & :&, and offer that many more opinions of wines/ and components of wines to avoid can be found by searching the internet. Also speaking of college, some Universities and Culinary establishments offer courses/classes to learn about wine.:S- Personally, I found the red wines served locally in our trip to Italy to be far superior to "house wines" served in the US. I have heard speculation that they keep all the good stuff ((D))overseas, though I suspect $$$ changes everything. :? |
As for the question about antihistamines and wine tasting... Personally, I wouldn't do it. I get a dry mouth when taking antihistamines - actually lots of folks do - and I think it would effect the taste of the wine.

Drink 2 vodka martinis first - and only drink good wine:)

oh my, wine is supposed to be a pleasurable exploration, xperience. :>, but some here bring that into question. Do true wine drinkers desire to hear about the sulfites, nausea and noses? No, and I'll take a chance and drink to that!

Iceeu2, I was getting severe headaches, had to see a neurologist, he said it's migraine, and gave me a list of foods to avoid. Red wine (red, not just any wine!) was on the list. Since then I avoid red wine and red grapes, some smoked meats and fishes, and the headache is gone. Of course I'm taking vitamin B2 and magnesium.
A week ago my husband was eating red grapes, and I decided to try. I ate only 2 grapes, and I felt sorry the next day! Headache! I do drink white wine and occasionally champagne, no problem. |
