I get a smiley face when my husband gives me that "bedroom eyes" look.((L))

My smiley face is stuck on :D

Actually, I have a Travel Smiley Face now that we have made all the final plans to fly to Portland Or in a few weeks.

Scarlett - a girlfriend of mine was in Portland a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it!
Hope you have fun.

Scarlett: One of the checkers at my local grocery store saw my new Seattle shirt and started a conversation about the NW. She said that there is no sales tax in Portland, and that they do not allow you to pump your own gas. Hmmm ... maybe you or someone else can confirm this.

Also, BACK TO THE SMILEYS, please tell me what I'm doing wrong. After I go to the Smiley page, I can't seem to get back to the message I was typing. What gives?

I believe there is no self-pumping gas in the entire state of Oregon.

Donna, you have to open the smiley face page in a new window. Otherwise you've left the fodors page and gone elsewhere. You can also memorize your faves or make a cheat sheet.

Tandoori_Girl Aug 19th, 2004 06:19 PM

No self-pumping allowed in New Jersey either (this post is full of puns). ((Z))

Scarlett Aug 19th, 2004 06:23 PM

That's right, I heard that about the non-self pumping gas..which I am sure will be fine with the Yankee..in all that rain!

I will do my best to shop and do research on the tax thing:)

Now if I want to add a smiley here, I would click on my Favorites, open the smiley site and copy the smiley, click back one and I am back here in this thread..I don't lose anything .. did that make sense?

Or you can go to File, New, Window and open the Smiley site in another window.

I printed the smileys (landscape orientation) for easy reference. ;;) ((F))

How come you can't pump your own gas? :?

Marilyn Aug 20th, 2004 10:11 AM

I don't know, but I think there are a couple of states that have laws like that. Someone having a slow work day might try doing a little research on google and letting the rest of us know :-)

X-( All right - what am I doing wrong - I get the smiley part but I don't get the color/italics etc. Do I have to highlight the text or something to get the to apply?
I think I figured it out.

BTW In NJ and Oregon the no self serve gas station laws exist to protect those low wage gas pumping jobs presumably

I don't know what all these people are talking about, but I'll answer your question.

How do I get the Smiley face?

Wear tighter underwear.

It's a very bad day today. Using those smileys for nearly a year, only today I've realized that the most important smiley is not there!!

Guess which one?

The luggage smiley of course! I can't make out a suitcase, a backpack, not even a fanny pack!! What a shame! :'(
