How do I get from LaGuardia to JFK?

I posted this on the airport board also, so sorry if I shouldn't duplicate, but wasn't sure if New Yorkers would read the airport board & I figure they know their airports!

Anyway, on Nov 1 will arrive at 12:35pm LaGuardia from Southwest domestic flight (no customs stop), & depart from JFK on MaxJet on International flight at 8:15pm.

Please, what are my transportation options? bus, taxi, hired car, etc. And if possibly you know, the approximate cost & time?

Thanks, Julie

You have a three viable options taht I can think of.

The easiest is a taxi for about $35 to $45. Probably 30 to 45 minutes.

The cheapest and most direct is the New York Airport Service bus for $13. Could take over an hour depending on how many stops the bus makes at Laguardia.

Finally, you could also take the Q33 bus to Roosevelt Ave. and then take the E train to Jamaica, where you would jump on the Airtrain. This would cost a total of $7 but isn't viable if you have much luggage. This would take about an hour as well.

There is a shuttle bus between the 2 airports that runs every 30 minutes I beleive. With no traffic the trip takes 15 minutes. In rush hour it could take an hour.

Just check the LGA web site and it will have all the details.

You can also do cab if you want.

Which makes sense depends on how many of you there are.

We just flew to LGA from Louisville on SW. Then, we took a bus to JFK for an international flight. The bus driver asked everyone which airline they were using and he announced the terminal numbers when we got to JFK. It was very easy. Just ask them after you get your luggage where to catch the bus to JFK and they'll steer you to the right waiting area.

I think it should only be about $30 in a taxi. LGA is closer to JFK than it is to Manhattan.

The bus between the 2 airports is $13/person and takes an hour, so if you're alone, take the bus, but for 2 or more, you might as well take a taxi.

"LGA is closer to JFK than it is to Manhattan."

Not exactly accurate. LGA is about 5 miles or so from Manhattan and about 12 miles to JFK.
