How do I get a better price at Bellagio?
We're going to Vegas in May with another couple and are set on staying at Bellagio.

The price the first two nights is reasonable (159) but it goes up to $499 on the Saturday. This is killing me, especially if we're going to spend some $ gambling there. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting a lower price? I've tried hotel discount network, las-vegas-travel.com and lasvegasreservations.com all to no avail.

Does anyone get anywhere negotiating with reservation clerks? If there wasn't such a huge variance in price, it wouldn't kill me so much, but I can't fathom paying$350 more for the same room.

Thx!

There's one solution that ALWAYS works, but it may not be cheaper in the end.
Gamble at the hotel where you want the rate reduction. They'll drop your room rate at checkout as compensation. If you want to know how much you'll need to gamble in order to get such a comp, exact details are hard to come by over the phone...they'll be frank with you at the casino guest services desk, but not always so on the phone.
Once you have a 'track record' there, they'll work with you on future guest rates, too.
But if it's a sold out weekend, advance deals may not be found no matter how hard you look...you'll need a 'connection'.

Most Vegas hotels have slot clubs that you can join over the Internet. Once you give them your name and address, they'll send you deals by email.
$499 is OUTRAGEOUS for that kind of room which, as you will see, is not all that great to begin with! If it were one of the corner SUITES, perhaps I could understand it, but just for the regular room? Highway ROBBERY!!!

Al's definitely correct. Those rooms aren't worth anywhere near that much in LV.
But the corner suites are worth a lot more than that. The one I stayed in (on a comp) was around 1600 square feet with multiple rooms, 3 bathrooms, multiple TV's, dining room with full dining outfit, and on and on. You can spend $550 on a standard room at the Four Seasons in Chicago or NYC and get one third the value of a nice suite in LV.
The difference between the suites and regular rooms at Bellagio is huge.
