How comfortable is shuttle bus in Denali NP, Alaksa
 

I have read many of the posts here about Denali shuttle bus tours but haven't seen this question.
Do they use school buses on the Denali shuttle bus tours. I realize they stop about every 1/1 hours but am wondering about how comfortable the seats are.
On the Denali site, it kind of looks like a charter bus but on TV they look more like a school bus.

For clairfication, the Shuttle buses and tour buses are two totally different things. But the same type bus- school buses. Heavy duty suspension. :)

I don't understand the "complaints", since I find the seating fine. It is bumpy but the seats are padded.

We have tickets on the shuttle bus. My husband has some back problems; your information will help us decide if this is something he can do or not.

As veterans of school trips on real school buses, we were worried about how uncomfortable a day on the shuttle would be, but we needn't have been. It may be that the Denali buses have more leg room than the school buses I've ridden on, or maybe it was just that you're frequently up and down taking pictures and getting in and out of the bus at stops, but we were perfectly comfortable. To avoid the worst of the bumps, arrive early enough so you don't end up stuck in the back of the bus. Have fun.

They have both types of school buses, some with a front hood or straight front, which are slightly bigger. They are pretty much regular heavy duty school buses with good brakes!!! They do have rack overhead to put your jackets, etc in. If someone has back problem, taking a Motran would be good idea.
