How are the azaleas in Savannah right now?

I may be passing through Savannah this weekend and could stop at Bonaventure Cemetary if the azaleas are right? Can anyone tell me where they're at?

I'll admit that I am not in Savannah, but I would be amazed if they are out. Easter is 'way early this year. Ours aren't even near in Carolina.

Thanks Gretchen. Since you are further north (and possibly inland?), it may be that Savannah's have started. My research says mid-March is when they begin.

I was in Savannah in April last year and they were done. Any Savannians out there?

Gretchen, they are wide open and blooming in Pawleys right now (I was at Litchfield Plantation Thursday) so I imagine they are in full bloom in Savannah.

Cimbrone, my girlfreind just spent St.Patricks in Savannah so I'll call her and ask but I'm sure they are blooming.

They're out on Hilton Head now. This weekend ought to be perfect.

Wow! Thanks everyone.

Fodorites,

I was thinking of a Charleston/Savannah trip next spring. Is March the prime time for blooming?

Enjoy, Cimbrone!

Thanks. Mid to late March is prime azalea time in Savannah.

Wow. Amazing. Glad to be wrong.

March 27-30 is the Tour of Homes and they usually try to schedule it during expected peak -
