how about your most memorable sight??

i saw the dumbest remarks ever made and thought that was great. i thought since we all love to travel maybe it would be nice to share one of our most memorable scenes (sites) during our travels as an inspiration for us to explore even more.

ONE of my most memorable (out of many) was last summer when i flew from idaho to seattle during the brush fires burning. it was a cloudy day and after we got up a little ways, the pilot stated that he wanted us to know that it actually wasn't cloudy; that is was a clear day and that what we were seeing (as far as the eye could see) was smoke from the fires. he then stated that we might not ever see anything like this again and he wanted to share the view with us. so he tipped the plane onto its side and we all got to see the truly amazing site of the fires burning just about from idaho all the way up toward seattle.

i'd love to hear (read) others most memorables.

Sadly-as of tonight, the most memorable sight I have seen is the WTC lights shining into the sky.
I flew OVER a rainbow once in a little 3-seater plane. I never knew this, but when you are over a rainbow, you don't see it as an arc, you see the full 360 degrees. So the rainbow was a whole circle. Unforgettable sight.

The first big trip for our family was to Maho Bay Camps on St John USVI. Everything went wrong from the beginning. Airline went on strike. Plane delayed for repairs. Luggage delayed in San Juan. Taxi driver had to pick up his kids. We were finally on the ferry and it was dark and rainy. We finally made it to our tent. Wet and a bit scared. During the night I woke up to discover our tent overlooked the ocean. The rain had stopped, the moon was up and there were beautiful boats moored in the bay. St Thomas twinkled in the distance. The next morning we just couldn't believe we were really on a Caribbean beach.

Gee, Jace, you must have led a boring childhood. I remember playing in the lawn sprinklers as a kid. As long as the sun was shining down on the whirling sprinkler, there was always a round rainbow to jump through and over.
