There is not much near Barbours Cut. You may want to stay at a hotel near one of the airports or downtown. I think there are only oil refineries and warehouses around La Porte, Texas.

Hiroshi is right. There is not much around Barbours Cut.
I would consider staying in the Clear Lake area, perhaps a newer chain hotel on either Nasa Road One, or Bay Area Boulevard. That way, you should have a lot of choices of things to do around you, not to mention restaurants, and will still not be too far from Barbours Cut. Perhaps you could stay near NASA and go to Johnson Space Center for the day. |
I grew up in La Porte, and everyone is correct, there's not much there. But there are two or three chain motels there now. (La Quinta is the only one that I can think of right now) But if you only have one night, I wouldn't suggest Clear Lake. La Porte is a nice small town. And if you would like a nice place for dinner and to spend the evening, head down the road to the Boardwalk in Kemah. Enjoy your trip.

The Address for the terminal is
1819 Barbours Cut Blvd. La Porte, TX 77571 There are some chain hotels (Best Western, Comfort Inn, La Quinta) about 2 miles away. All the B&Bs are in Kemah, about 8 miles away. If you are flying in, check to see if you can arrange your flights to arrive at and depart from Hobby. It is over 45 minutes to an hour closer to La Porte than Intercontinental. As for dining, my guess is the better food will be in Seabrook and Kemah. |
