Houston Crime??

Really, it seems like there's not anything for them to go back to. The woman who bought our town home got a loan at just over 2% to buy our place in Houston - it was some sort of disaster loan to help people get back on their feet.

My husband goes to the NO area for business, and he said you wouldn't believe how awful it still is.

Hi, john - it would help people if you tell them how far you are willing to commute. I wouldn't consider the UH area to be a very safe part of town.

There are a couple of websites that may help you - apartments.com and apartmentratings.com.

When I was single, most of the single folks lived in the Galleria area, but now the downtown area is making a comeback with lofts and more development. I think if you want to live in an area you would consider safe, you're going to have a bit of a commute. I would recommend you post a separate question so yours doesn't get buried in this thread.

Yeah, but funny thing, I don't see New York or New England or any of these lily-white places up north offering to take all of these people. I don't see uber-liberal Hollywood volunteering. It seems Houston took on an excessive amount. Next time it should be evenly spread so that New Hampshire can experience more diversity.
