house or cabin on Lake Tahoe
 

I am planning a trip to Lake Tahoe in mid November. I would like to find a house or cabin that is directly on the lake. We are looking for a quiet time, snow, sitting around the fireplace, good views, cooking and eating in, etc. The north area seems like the best location. Anyone have suggestions on a more private house or cabin that is rented by the owner or a rental company?

There are several place listed on the vacation rental by owner site--- www.vrbo.com - we have rented several times though them with no problem but I know there has recently been a hot disc. on this site...

There was a recent VRBO discussion regarding different experiences people had with renting through them.

Do you want the rental to be in any particular area of the lake?

You could try this site enjoytahoe.com. I've used them alot for summer cabin rental and they are great.
