Hotwire Hotels on Fisherman's Wharf
Does anyone know which Hotwire hotel is listed as 3.5 stars, "B" (boutique), on Fisherman's Wharf?
|
I don't remember if this was a boutique hotel, but a friend got a 3.5 stars in SF Fisherman's Wharf on Hotwire and it turned out to be Hilton. He enjoyed his stay and the location.

Thanks, AAFrequentFlyer. Does anyone know which hotels Hotwire considers boutique?
|
betterbidding.com lists some of the hotels. I would assume the Tuscan would be the one (I can't think of any other "boutique" hotels in the Wharf) because everything else is a large hotel (Hilton, Marriott, Radisson, etc). You could also see what priceline lists as a boutique in the wharf--there is no guarantee it will be the same one but at least it may give you an idea what your options are.

Alooohaaa,
As kika sez, I don't recall another "boutique" hotel in the FW area tha twould be the 4.5 stars I see on Hwire currently. The first time we stayed at the Tuscan this year, I believe we got it thru H'wire for about $80-something a night and it was probably the 3.5star hotel. The second time we booked it was thru Priceline and it was the Boutique 3 or 4 star hotel and we got it for an amt. that was about $5-7/per night lower that H'wire. We really like that hotel. About 1-2 blocks away from a cable car turntable, close to Pier 39/FW and walking distance to NoBeach, Ghirdeli Sq. Aquatic Park, Buena Vista and the restaurant att. to the Tuscan, Cafe Pescatore is also a good dining choice. After see The Hulk last night, I'm ready for another SF trip. Hey! Like this Thursday and Friday for business. Hope they don't make me angry. They won't like me when I'm angry. :& |
Thanks, kika and Kal. It is the Tuscan Inn. Got it for $98 a night, which is OK, as we will be there over the July 4th weekend. Kal, appreciate the suggestion about the Cafe Pescatore, too. Did you make any requests for a specific room with the hotel?

PB, while you're supposedly limited to certain rooms when you book thru Pline/Hwire, we found these people to be very friendly and the last trip they moved us to an outside room where we had a small but nice view of Coit Tower which is awesome at night when there are low clouds/fog passing by.
No charge either. Usually if you're friendly and they aren't full, not a prob. But sometimes they may req. a few extra dollars on the "upgrade." like our other fave SF "B" hotel, Harbor Court in the Embarc Area does. The inside rooms were smallish (Hey-it's a boutique!) but very quiet. The room with the view did get some street noise but quite tolerable for this very light sleeper. Which is about the only thing I do lightly! We're still looking for a place to go for the 4th so you never know who you may run into!?!?!? ((D))((D))((D)) Mahalo, Kal |
What Kal? Leaving town for the 4th? Not the All American Speedway for fireworks?
|
We can see them from our back yard.
At risk of sounding like a total snob, after seeing the WashDC fireworks 5-6x, the Placer Co. display is a bit of a let down. That is when they have them! If this nice weather keeps up, we may just stay home (after telling all the out-laws we're going out of town) and catch up on house stuff. Unless, of course we score a good 'un in SF, Sonoma, Napa, RenoTahoe! |
Greetings, Kal!
I'll ask for a room with a view and see what we get. Have stayed at a boutique hotel in NYC and it was really small - maybe 18 " walking space on either side of the bed - actually easier to jump across it. The room was unique, though. You could see your partner showering thru a glass panel in the bathroom wall, but only if the privacey curtain wasn't drawn! -- PB |
PB,
They weren't THAT small! ;-) The room we got w/ the king sized bed still had enuff room for my "Hulk-like" arse to get around. Bathroom was pretty big. The room we got with 2 dbls beds was pretty darn big, so you shouldn't have to go outside to change you mind. #-O |
The web pix of the room at the Tuscan Inn looked larger than the one we had in NYC, but sometimes that can be deceiving. Good to hear that the rooms are larger. Can't wait to get to SF.
