Hotwire Hotel Offers....

Planning first trip to DC in April and I'm overwhelmed of course with all the hotels. I want a safe area with places to walk to in the evening. Anyone use Hotwire for the Dupont Circle-Embassy Row area? Wondering what hotels are offered. Or Georgetown/Foggybottom. Thank....

You can also plug in the same dates on the vacation product by adding a car and match the icons. Hope this helps.

I just did this exact search over a two week period, and ended up taking The Quincy near Farragut N. Metro station and not far from Dupont Circle with a kitchenette for the last week in Feb. It's only 2 stars but has good reviews. And is spacious.

I tried hotwire and priceline for the areas you mention.

There are only 3 hotels choices you'd receive, in the 4 star Priceline Dupont Circle/ Embassy Row bidding area; that are all spectacular if you bid them and win. Try this and you will be given a real deal. They are all superior (I've seen pictures), safe, and great Metro access area as well. They wouldn't play with me nice this time as I wanted 7 days- more than they would give. Hotwire prices for my time period were just maybe $20 under rack rates. Not such a deal, IMHO.

Hotel prices in D.C. are sometimes sky high this spring, IMHO, way- way over their real space and value reviews. Between 2 different days in the same week there is most often a doubling factor in cost. It's what they "can" get through business groups or company town activities, I guess. But seeing some of these prices for what you get, ugh.

Bring up D.C. hotels in the search feature and you'll get all my threads.

Now, I hope I can go, as my Dad's back in the hospital again. Another reason I thought it not the best idea to use Priceline or hotwire this time. On quikbook, it is cancellable.
