Hotwire, Cheaptickets, Orbitz and ?
I've gone to those three for inexpensive fares. Do you know of any other reputable sites that have inexpensive fares? I want to go to Austin in August (from SFO) but can't afford a fare over $200.
Try Bestfares.com. We've had great luck with them lately.

The cheapest fare I could find for you is $275 from Continental. If you're flexible with your time of departure and arrival, I suggest that you try Priceline and bid within your budget.

I have actually been booking tickets for a couple trips and have found the actual airlines' websites offer better fares than the discount sites. Check it out, it can't hurt.

I've had good luck on Expedia.com.

Topping this for Willie.

Check www.americawest.com and www.southwest.com

You could also try travelocity.com
They have a feature where you put in both cities and check off 'My Travel Dates are Flexible' It will then bring up a list of all the fares for that city. By selecting different travel dates, you can see on what days/dates those fares are available and for which ones they have seats. I find this easier than going to other travel sites or airline sites where it is trial and error to find the cheapest flights. Once you find a flight you want, you can then go to that airlines website and put in those dates in order to take advantage of any web discount the airline might offer. This of course only works when your dates are flexible.
