If you are in the mood for seafood, my favorite restaurant in NYC is Aqua Grill (in Soho), it's not new, but it is fabulous! Everyone I know says they have the best oysters in town and their daily specials are always fantastic. Their staff (especially the Bartenders) are warm, fun and very knowledgeable. If not this visit, I highly recommend you dine there during one of your visits.
Spotted Pig is delicious too. Whenever I go there, I just go really early (6ish) to avoid a long wait for a table.
Babo is always a favorite for inventive Italian. And Otto on 8th st (another Mario Batali place) is great for lunch.

anamaria, how are you getting to the game? If you are driving, parking is difficult, my understanding is that there is massive construction around the Meadowlands stadium and parking on site is pretty much restricted to season pass holders. If you're planning on taking the bus (most sensible, easiest way to and from Manhattan) that will preclude going anywhere in NJ after the game.

If you do drive, check out the Meadowlands website below - you'll have to park off site (2 miles away) and take a shuttle bus to the stadium. Here's a link:

Its been since 2008...(since I posted about NY) but I must say went to NY this past week to check up on our son and my husband and I went to a place called "Catch" in the meatpacking. That place was amazing. The food was so good and service was good. Seated behind us was Lionel Ritchie and to the right of us the the Kardashian boy...anyway after that dinner we went to the night club with our son and his girlfriend and it was really fun. But all in all the dinner at Catch was probably the best that weekend which is amazing for New York! We also ate at the Spice Market(Brunch),Pastis,PO,and Blue Ribbon!!

Doesn;t matter how you feel about drinking - it's illegal. The restaurant is not going to risk losing their liquor license (and thus their business) so your 19 year old can have a taste. Offering it to him is not fair to the restaurant.
This is not something I agree with and our DDs have been allowed a little wine or champagne on special occassions since they were 14 or so. I think this is much better than setting 21 year olds with no experience lose to down a pint of Olde Sweate Soxe on their birthday. But what you can do in the privacy of your own home you can't do in a restaurant. (And you can't serve other people's kids in your home either.)
